Sticker Shock

I've been working on my budget for next year, and I am so relieved to be going to the school that offered me the most money. It isn't a factor I considered when I was choosing schools, but it sure is nice to know that I'm not spending more than I have to! These numbers are unreal.

I've also been looking for housing up around Hanover. Hanover is surprisingly expensive, and I'm not a fan of the quality either. Things seem to get better in Vermont, especially as you move further from the White River and deeper into the state. Of course, I want to live as close to campus as possible for convenience as well as to minimize gas consumption.

Also, thanks to folks who voted for this blog in the "ClearAdmit Best of Blogging 2008" awards!

I am a prospective MBA applicant. I seem to be developing liking for close-knit, touchy feely schools. Tuck is such a great school. My favourite. :-) Can you tell in some kind if retrospective way about "what could have gone wrong with Kellogg?"... Your profile for me is too tempting.

Hi Sustained Agony -
I am applying for MBA programs this year and I found your blog from last year. I am going through the exact same process with almost the exact same list of schools! I am going with Harvard, Kellogg, Chicago, Dartmouth, and Duke. We are also similar on GMAT: I got 710 overall GMAT, 98th percentile on Verbal, 70th percentile on Quant. I am a Finance undergrad though, but also with a consulting background. I really could use any tips on the essays that you may have learned going through the process. I'm done with all of the Part I type of stuff (school, GPA, resume) and I really only have essay stuff remaining. I am dying though!! I can't tell what my chances are and I can't imagine myself having to stay another year in my position. Write back if you can! My email is wiserjess@yahoo.com if you have a moment.
Thanks,

Jess
